Bellows Beach Babe
This week we went to Bellows Beach and "camped" in the cabins for two nights. This beach is one of our family's favorite beaches.
Corynn was a little worried about getting in the water. Just two weeks prior, we went swimming at this beach with some friends, and she got stung by a Portuguese Man'O War. The tentacles had wrapped around her leg from mid thigh, to mid calf and left welts and blisters. She was in a lot of pain. Here is a picture of a small one we found washed up on the beach. We were lucky this time that nobody was stung.

Pampered Toes
Corynn has been wanting to go with me every time I get a pedicure. I finally gave in, and we even invited her friend Mya to come with us...just for a girls night out. We all enjoyed being pampered, and giggled together when they tickled our feet with the pumice stone. We all got Hawaiian flowers with rhinestones. Here are the final results from left to right, Mom, Corynn, and Mya.

Surprise!
This week was Mya's 10th birthday, so we decided to have a surprise party for her. I think some of the kids spilled the beans at school, but you still can't help being surprised when you have a bunch of girls yelling, "surprise," with horns and silly string. They had a fun couple of hours playing, dancing, jumping, yelling, eating...you get the picture.
After blowing out the candles, a cake fight broke out. Whoooaa. Not in the house, girls!

Kids For All Seasons
While vacationing in Maui, Corynn and Dallin chose to attend the keiki camp Kids for all Seasons for 2 days. They had so much fun. Who wants to drive around Maui with Mom and Dad for 2 days? Corynn loved the fish tank and bird cage with the parrots Ricky and Lucy. Her favorite activity was going to feed the fish at the resort's pond. She is my animal lovin' girl.
Here is her beach scene.

What's Cookin'?
Corynn has been refining her culinary skills lately. I bought her a kids cook-book this summer, and she has loved trying out different recipes.
Here are her funny face pizzas that she made for the family one night for dinner.
She enjoyed making the pizzas so much, the next night she enlisted the help of her friend Mya to help make a chicken pasta dish. Yummm....
This week she started cooking classes at the community center. Can't wait to see what she whips up next. I'd like to put in my order for chocolate cake please :)

The Best Big Sister
Corynn has been the best big sister EVER to Masen. He loves her so much. Whenever he is fussy for Mom, Corynn can take over and get him calmed down. He loves to be bounced by her, and will usually smile at her when she talks to him. She is proving to be an invaluable help.
Corynn can bathe Masen with her eyes closed (or at least half closed :)

Corynn and Mya
This is one of Corynn's best friends, Mya. She is very kind friend, and they spend a lot of time together. They are in the same class, and Mya just lives down the hill from our house. She has become almost like another member of our family, eating over frequently, and even going to church activities with Corynn. Here are some pictures of these cute friends.

Jet of the Month
At the kid's school they have a program called Jet of the Month, which Corynn was chosen for this month. She was super excited, in part because it was her peers that voted for her. They have an assembly that parents are invited to attend, and they read a comment sheet that the teacher prepares. Here is what Mrs. Ichioka had to say about Corynn.
"Students in room 34 agree that Corynn is a giving and caring student. She shows concern for others and is always quick to help. She has really grown to be a responsible and compasionate student. Congratulations on being Jet of the Month."
It is a tradition that parents come to take pictures and give a small gift, so I brought her a candy lei. It seemed appropriate for Hawaii.

Here is a picture of her eating the candy from the lei. She looks so grown up to me in this picture.

Christmas 2008
This year Corynn got "everything she never knew she always wanted." Besides the Wii and the games that went along with it, Corynn got a new scooter, some clothes, some books (one of which is a Science Experiment book!), some new Sunday shoes, a puzzle, some money and gift-cards. Her FAVORITE toys though, are the ones Grandma and Grandpa Lambert got her; Webkinz!!! She has named the penguin Icicle, and the dragon Tiffiny.

Here is a shot of the gang playing the Wii. In this picture Corynn was crying because she was loosing, but at the last second, she pasted a smile on her face for the camera. What a poser ;)
Here is Corynn taking a rest after a fun filled day. Notice her two little constant companions, Tiffiny and Icicle.
A little side note from the last post; We all were waiting to see what Corynn got Jesus for Christmas. When Dallin opened the box, it was empty. I asked her what was supposed to be in it, and she said it was Love; you just couldn't see it, you can only feel it.

A Christmas Gift for Jesus
The other day I was listening to music while doing housework, when Corynn went in her room and turned on Kids Christmas Carols. It was so sweet to hear children singing, so I turned off my music and let her CD carry throughout the house. After Silent Night was over, she came into the kitchen, with tears in her eyes. I thought she had been hurt, so I asked her what was the matter. She told me that she just listened to the words of that song Silent Night, and it really touched her to hear about Jesus' birth. Such a sweet thing for a mother to hear, and I thought the tender moment was over. She disappeared for a little while, and when she came out of her
room she was carrying a gift, which she had just wrapped, and placed it under the tree. When I looked at the gift, the tag said, "To: Jesus From: Corynn." I asked her why she did this, and she said, "I think too many people forget about Jesus during Christmas time, so I wanted to give him a gift to show that I remember him." I asked her what she thought Jesus would want for a gift, to which she replied, "for people to be nice, kind and loving." I guess we will have to wait until Christmas to see what Corynn got for Jesus. I hope he gets what he wants.

Week end In Maui
Our family had a blast in Maui last week-end. Corynn's favorite part was swimming, both in the pools and in the ocean. Grandpa Lambert was impressed by her snorkeling abilities. She was able to see some fish, a sea urchin, and when dad said he thought he saw some jelly fish, you have never seen a little girl swim so fast to shore!

Halloween
Corynn was an East High Cheerleader for Halloween. Her favorite part of the night was getting loads and loads of candy. Her least favorite part of the night was when dad confiscated the candy...grrrr. He calls it "cavity on a stick," which, if any of you have seen the new Willy Wonka movie, you will know where he got that saying.

Spirit Week
Last week Corynn's school had Spirit Week, where every day they had to do something different to show school spirit. One day was "twin day" so here is a shot of Corynn and her "twin" Nycole.

Here we go....
After seeing her cousins' blogs, Corynn decided she wanted to have one to share with friends and family as well. She picked the name "Crazy Corynn" because she feels like it best describes her. She is a real fire-cracker, and keeps us all on our toes :)
