Corynn has been wanting to go with me every time I get a pedicure. I finally gave in, and we even invited her friend Mya to come with us...just for a girls night out. We all enjoyed being pampered, and giggled together when they tickled our feet with the pumice stone. We all got Hawaiian flowers with rhinestones. Here are the final results from left to right, Mom, Corynn, and Mya.

Surprise!
This week was Mya's 10th birthday, so we decided to have a surprise party for her. I think some of the kids spilled the beans at school, but you still can't help being surprised when you have a bunch of girls yelling, "surprise," with horns and silly string. They had a fun couple of hours playing, dancing, jumping, yelling, eating...you get the picture. After blowing out the candles, a cake fight broke out. Whoooaa. Not in the house, girls!

Kids For All Seasons
While vacationing in Maui, Corynn and Dallin chose to attend the keiki camp Kids for all Seasons for 2 days. They had so much fun. Who wants to drive around Maui with Mom and Dad for 2 days? Corynn loved the fish tank and bird cage with the parrots Ricky and Lucy. Her favorite activity was going to feed the fish at the resort's pond. She is my animal lovin' girl. Here is her beach scene.

What's Cookin'?
Corynn has been refining her culinary skills lately. I bought her a kids cook-book this summer, and she has loved trying out different recipes. Here are her funny face pizzas that she made for the family one night for dinner. She enjoyed making the pizzas so much, the next night she enlisted the help of her friend Mya to help make a chicken pasta dish. Yummm....
This week she started cooking classes at the community center. Can't wait to see what she whips up next. I'd like to put in my order for chocolate cake please :)

The Best Big Sister
Corynn has been the best big sister EVER to Masen. He loves her so much. Whenever he is fussy for Mom, Corynn can take over and get him calmed down. He loves to be bounced by her, and will usually smile at her when she talks to him. She is proving to be an invaluable help.
Corynn can bathe Masen with her eyes closed (or at least half closed :)

Corynn and Mya
This is one of Corynn's best friends, Mya. She is very kind friend, and they spend a lot of time together. They are in the same class, and Mya just lives down the hill from our house. She has become almost like another member of our family, eating over frequently, and even going to church activities with Corynn. Here are some pictures of these cute friends.

Jet of the Month
At the kid's school they have a program called Jet of the Month, which Corynn was chosen for this month. She was super excited, in part because it was her peers that voted for her. They have an assembly that parents are invited to attend, and they read a comment sheet that the teacher prepares. Here is what Mrs. Ichioka had to say about Corynn.
"Students in room 34 agree that Corynn is a giving and caring student. She shows concern for others and is always quick to help. She has really grown to be a responsible and compasionate student. Congratulations on being Jet of the Month."
It is a tradition that parents come to take pictures and give a small gift, so I brought her a candy lei. It seemed appropriate for Hawaii.
Here is a picture of her eating the candy from the lei. She looks so grown up to me in this picture.
